A new beginning rarely feels like the clean page we imagine. More often, we arrive with a story still unfolding, questions that have not settled, and a little uncertainty about what comes next. Beginning again does not require us to leave all of that at the door.

There is courage in taking a small step without knowing the whole path. Making a call. Returning to a practice we once loved. Asking for help. Saying, honestly, that we would like things to be different. None of these steps needs to be impressive to be meaningful.

Grace makes room for this unfinished kind of courage. We are allowed to learn slowly. We can acknowledge what happened without allowing it to become the only story we tell about ourselves. We can take responsibility where it belongs and still meet ourselves with compassion.

Some days, beginning again will look like movement. On other days, it may look like rest, or accepting the company of someone trustworthy. There is no need to turn the next step into a promise about every step after it. Today, a small beginning can be enough.
