Quiet is not always easy to find. Even when a room becomes still, our thoughts may keep moving through the tasks we have not finished and the conversations we are still carrying. Stillness is less about making the mind empty than giving ourselves permission to stop managing everything for a moment.

You might begin with something simple: sit near a window, feel your feet against the floor, and notice the light. Let a breath arrive and leave without making it another task to do well. If prayer comes, let it be honest. A few plain words can hold more than a carefully arranged speech.

We do not have to measure quiet by what it produces. There may be no sudden insight and no immediate sense of peace. A moment can still be worthwhile because we showed up without demanding an outcome from it.

When you return to your day, carry one small thing with you: the shape of a leaf, a word from your prayer, or the memory that you are allowed to pause. Stillness does not have to be far away. Sometimes it is a little space we make within an ordinary day.
